Terms & Conditions
Numia Health Inc. · Last updated: October 16, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of numiahealth.ca, your Numia Health patient account, and the at-home blood collection services we provide (together, the "Services"). The Services are offered by Numia Health Inc. ("Numia Health," "we," "us," or "our").
By browsing our website, creating an account, or booking an appointment, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
If you book through a clinic, health business, or other partner organization, that organization's own terms may also apply to your relationship with them.
2. Eligibility
To use the Services, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have your blood collected at an address within our current service area
- Provide accurate, complete, and current information about yourself
You may only book an appointment for yourself unless you are legally authorized to act on another person's behalf.
3. Our Services
Numia Health coordinates at-home blood testing. When you book with us:
- A licensed Canadian ordering provider in our network reviews your intake and, where appropriate, approves a requisition for the tests you selected
- A certified phlebotomist visits your address to collect your blood sample
- Your sample is processed by an accredited Canadian partner lab
- Your results are made available in your secure patient account after clinician review
An ordering provider may decline to approve a requisition, or may change the tests ordered, if they decide the tests are not clinically appropriate. If a requisition is not approved, we will refund the amount you paid for the affected tests.
We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services, including the panels we offer and the areas we serve, at any time.
4. Not Medical Advice — Not for Emergencies
If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. Numia Health does not provide emergency care.
The Services provide laboratory testing and educational information. They do not replace a relationship with your family doctor or other healthcare provider. Content on our website and in your patient account — including result summaries, marker explanations, and action plans — is for general education and wellness purposes. It is not a diagnosis, treatment plan, or individualized medical advice.
Please discuss your results with a qualified healthcare professional before making decisions about your health, medications, or treatment.
5. Your Account
You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure and for all activity under your account. Do not share your sign-in codes or links with anyone. Tell us right away at hello@numiahealth.ca if you believe someone has accessed your account without permission.
We may suspend or close an account that we reasonably believe is being used in breach of these Terms, fraudulently, or in a way that puts other people at risk.
6. Booking & Payment
- All prices are shown in Canadian dollars and include or add applicable taxes as shown at checkout
- Payment is due when you book. Payments are processed by our payment provider, Stripe. We do not store your full card details
- If a Numia team member books on your behalf by phone or email, we may send you a secure payment link. Your booking is confirmed once payment is received
- Discount and promotional codes are subject to their own conditions, cannot be exchanged for cash, and may be withdrawn at any time
- We may correct pricing errors and will contact you before charging a different amount
Numia Health's services are generally not covered by provincial health insurance. Some private or employer health plans may reimburse you. We can provide a receipt, but we cannot guarantee coverage.
7. Rescheduling, Cancellations & Refunds
Rescheduling
You may reschedule your appointment free of charge, subject to availability. Please reschedule as early as possible so we can offer the time to another patient.
Cancellations
- 24 hours or more before your appointment: you will receive a full refund to your original payment method
- Less than 24 hours before your appointment: no refund is available, but you may still reschedule
- Missed appointments: if you are not available at the booked address and time, or the phlebotomist cannot safely access the location, the appointment is treated as a no-show and is not refunded
When we cannot complete your draw
If we cancel your appointment, or a draw cannot be completed or a sample cannot be processed for reasons on our side, we will rebook you at no cost or give you a full refund — your choice.
Refunds are issued to the original payment method and may take 5–10 business days to appear, depending on your bank.
8. Your Appointment
To help your draw go smoothly, you agree to:
- Follow the preparation instructions we send you, such as fasting before certain tests
- Be present at the booked address at the scheduled time with valid photo ID
- Provide a safe, clean, and accessible place for the collection
- Tell us about any medical conditions, medications, or past reactions to blood draws that may affect your collection
- Treat our phlebotomists with respect
A phlebotomist may decline or stop a collection if they believe it is unsafe to continue. Blood collection carries small risks, including bruising, lightheadedness, or, rarely, infection. You may withdraw your consent at any time before or during the collection.
9. Results & AI-Assisted Content
Results are released to your patient account after a licensed clinician in our network reviews them. Turnaround times shown on our website are estimates and can be affected by the lab, shipping, or the need for additional review.
We label each result as Optimal, Watch, or Action using clinical reference standards set by Numia's medical director. These labels can differ from the reference range printed on your lab report. See our Privacy Policy for how scoring works.
Some summaries, explanations, and action plans in your account are prepared with the help of artificial intelligence and are reviewed by a clinician before release. They may still contain errors or omissions. Always use them alongside the advice of a qualified healthcare professional.
If a result needs urgent attention, a member of our clinical team may contact you directly. Please keep your phone number and email up to date.
10. Acceptable Use
When using the Services, you agree not to:
- Provide false information or impersonate another person
- Book tests for someone else without their consent or legal authority
- Access, or try to access, another person's account or health information
- Interfere with the security or normal operation of our website or systems
- Copy, scrape, or resell any part of the Services without our written permission
- Use the Services for any unlawful purpose
11. Intellectual Property
The Numia Health name, logo, website, software, and content are owned by Numia Health or our licensors and are protected by Canadian and international law. You may view and download content for your own personal, non-commercial use. Your test results belong to you, and you may share them as you choose.
12. Third-Party Services
The Services rely on third parties such as our partner lab, payment processor, and scheduling tools, and our website may link to other websites. We are not responsible for the content or practices of third-party websites. Your use of them is subject to their own terms.
13. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
We work hard to provide accurate, reliable Services, but we provide our website and educational content "as is" and cannot guarantee they will always be available, error-free, or complete.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Numia Health is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Services. Our total liability for any claim related to the Services is limited to the amount you paid us for the booking that gave rise to the claim.
Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be waived, or our liability for negligence or wilful misconduct where the law does not allow that liability to be limited.
14. Privacy
Your privacy matters to us. Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal and health information, and forms part of these Terms.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Before starting any formal proceeding, please contact us so we can try to resolve your concern informally. Subject to any rights you have to bring a claim where you live, disputes will be resolved in the courts of British Columbia.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version at numiahealth.ca/terms with a new "Last updated" date. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through a notice in your account before they take effect. Changes do not apply to bookings already paid for.
