What is Numia Health? A physician-ordered, at-home blood testing service in Greater Vancouver

Numia Health is a physician-ordered, at-home blood testing service in Greater Vancouver, British Columbia. You choose a blood panel online, a licensed Canadian physician reviews and approves the requisition, a BC-licensed clinician draws your blood at home, and your results arrive in plain English in the Numia app in 7 days.
Numia Health isn't a laboratory itself; an accredited Canadian laboratory analyzes your sample. Numia sells testing, not treatment or prescriptions.
Numia Health also isn't one of the other apps named Numia (for astrology, nutrition, crypto or payments), and it isn't Numan, the UK men's health brand.
How does Numia's at-home blood testing work?
Bloodwork usually takes separate steps: an appointment for a requisition, a lab visit, a wait, then another appointment for results. Numia Health puts them in one place.
- Order, about 3 minutes. You pick a panel and answer health questions online; a licensed Canadian physician reviews them and approves the requisition.
- Draw, about 10 minutes. A BC-licensed clinician comes to your home for a morning draw, 5 days a week.
- Results, in 7 days. Your results arrive in plain English in the Numia app. The Numia Companion, an AI that has read your results, answers questions and cites the panel.
- Follow-up. Out-of-range results are physician-reviewed, with recommended next steps. An optional wellness consultation lets you talk them through.
Which panels does Numia offer?
| Panel | What it measures | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Electrolytes | Sodium, potassium, chloride, creatinine, urea | $199 |
| Thyroid Basic | TSH, free T4, free T3 | $239 |
| Cardiac | Lipids, Apo B, Lp(a), hs-CRP | $249 |
| Weight Loss Monitoring | Blood sugar, lipids, liver, kidneys, TSH | $299 |
| Male Hormone | Total and free testosterone, SHBG, LH, albumin, DHEAS | $299 |
| Basic Nutrients | Iron, B12, folate, vitamin D, magnesium, zinc | $319 |
| Female Pre-Menopause | Estradiol, progesterone, FSH, LH, prolactin, testosterone, DHEAS | $319 |
| Fatigue | 22 markers: iron, thyroid, blood sugar, liver, kidneys | $379 |
Some panels overlap. The Fatigue Panel includes every Thyroid Basic and Electrolytes marker, so you won't need all three. Preparation differs too: the Fatigue Panel needs an 8–12 hour fast, and fasting before a blood test in BC explains the rest. Which panel fits your symptoms can help you choose.
Why test when you feel fine?
Because a baseline shows you what's normal for you. Lab ranges come from large groups, and your own range can be narrower: in healthy men tested monthly for a year, each man's thyroid range was about half as wide as the group's (Andersen et al., 2002). A result can sit inside the printed range and still be a change for you. Tracking results in one app makes those shifts easier to spot.
Where does Numia fit?
Numia Health works alongside primary care, not instead of it. It suits people who want a broader picture, a baseline to track, or fewer steps between a question and an answer. Numia is an HSA-eligible service, and it collects across Greater Vancouver: Burnaby, Coquitlam, Delta, Langley, Maple Ridge, New Westminster, North Vancouver, Pitt Meadows, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, Richmond, Surrey, Vancouver, West Vancouver and White Rock.
Private blood test costs in BC and fatigue bloodwork routes in Vancouver compare Numia with other routes.
